A SPECIAL socially distanced carol service is being staged in Liskeard and tickets are free, thanks to local people who have pledged money to support the event.

Five churches have come together to organise the Car Park Carols which is set to take place in Morrison’s Car Park at 7pm on Sunday December 20.

There are two sorts of ticket for the service – drive-in for those arriving by car and walk-in for people coming along on foot, and these can be booked by visiting https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/.../car-park-carols-liskeard

“We are looking forward to enjoying a carol service, led by musicians from the different churches, and enjoying a special time of coming together in a way that has been so difficult over the last year,” said a spokesperson for the event.

“It’s going to be lots of fun, and a chance to bless our community, at a time when the usual Christmas gatherings are not going to be taking place.

“We’re praying for a beautiful night, to sing together and remember the reason for the season!”

Churches involved in putting on the event are St Martin’s, Light & Life, Greenbank, Cleerway (St Cleer) and the Grace Community Church.
