An exhibition entitled 'Out from Under A Cloud' following the history of health in Liskeard over the past 200 years has just opened at the Liskeard and District Museum. Running until October 23, the exhibition traces the dramatic improvements that have taken place in health care in the town over two centuries. This includes the firing of a cannon into the clouds in 1832 in the hope of dispersing them because they were thought to be causing a cholera outbreak. Ending with the opening on the new Liskeard Community Hospital earlier this year, the free exhibition is part of the Caradon Festival of Arts and Culture.
