Callington Town pulled off the shock result of round one by beating their Western Division One opponents, Bude Town, at Broadclose Park.
Following postponements in the previous two weeks, the pitch was eventually deemed playable on this occasion. The visitors got off to the perfect start when they found themselves in front
after only ten seconds.
Determined play from midfielder Jodie Shipton saw the ball fall to in-form striker Sasha Cameron, who poked it past the on-rushing goalkeeper.
Despite being visibly sha-ken, Bude eventually regrouped and began to find their stride as they went in hunt of the equaliser.
They got their reward when a cross fell to an unmarked Bude striker, who tapped in from close range.
Both sides battled hard, with possession equally shared. Callington were looking particularly dangerous down the left-hand side, with young winger Sam Veal flashing a number of excellent crosses across the face of the Bude goal.
With the game finely balanced, the second period saw much of the same.
Neither side were able to carve out many clear-cut scoring opportunities, and both goalkeepers made routine stops from long-range shots.
But with 15 minutes remaining, a high ball landed at the feet of Cameron in the Bude six-yard area, and she finished clinically from close range to grab her second goal of the game and Callington's vital winner.
The away side had to ride their luck in the dying moments, with Bude hitting
the post before the ball was eventually cleared out of a congested penalty area.
Callington manager Adam McPherson admitted: 'The girls remain unbeaten this season and their confidence continues to grow. We are delighted to come here and get a win against very strong opponents.'
Meanwhile, Dobwalls are also through to the second round after being awarded a walkover at St Blazey.
