Tudor evening
at the school
YEAR four at Callington Primary School held a Tudor evening with guest singer Ken Aspinall and guest recorder player, Johanna Browning last week.
Year five took to the stage the following evening for a Cornish evening with songs and dances. Frances Bennett and Hilary Coleman had run three workshops during the afternoon and the results of these were preformed in the evening. The students also preformed their own selection of traditional and modern Cornish music.
On the last of the three evenings Year three shared their concert with the Callington Town Band.
Head teacher, Jenny Poole, said she was extremely proud of the pupils: 'The evenings were great community events and the audiences were appreciative. It was quite an undertaking for the school to put on three different concerts in one week, but proved to be very successful. The pupils performances were outstanding and they were able to hear and share other musicians skills and talents.'
