Jo the quilter is all stitched up

The theme of the exhibition, 'Under The Covers', reflects both the venue - the Indoor Cricket School at Lords Cricket Ground, St John's Wood - and the status of quiltmakers. It runs from September 21 to 26.

Jo, a member of the Cheesewringers and the South West Quilters, has been pursuing the art for 10 years. Her work has been on display in the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro and features in two exhibitions in Devon this year, at the school in Princeton from August 21 to 30, and at Buckland Abbey on October 16 and 17, when demonstrations of patchwork will also be held.

Archaeology of Bodmin Moor

For the five weekends from August 13 to September 5, Callington Museum is showing a travelling archeological exhibition entitled 'Stone World - the Landscape and Archaeology of Leskernick, Bodmin Moor'.

This new exhibition will run alongside the current one showing 'Pandora's Box' alongside the final exhibition of the year, 'More Local Photographs and Postcards'. This continues until October 31.

The Museum will be open at the usual time every weekend, from Friday until Sunday, between 10.00am and 4.00pm. Groups or individuals are welcome at other times. Please ring 01579 382119 or 01822 832898.
