A call for volunteers has gone out as a town gets ready to stage its Cornish Christmas events.
Nadelik Lyskerrys - Liskeard’s Christmas - promises to be bigger and better than ever this year thanks to a boost from the Truro City of Lights team.
A large scale withy and paper lantern will be created by Truro artist Sue Loydell and the Liskerrett Community Centre.
Meanwhile, lantern-making workshops will continue on Fridays (November 16 and 23 9am-12 noon) at the centre, with an additional session on Saturday November 24 (10.30am) at the Library.
Cornish dance workshops are being held on Saturday mornings (10am - 12 noon) and for those who would like to learn Cornish phrases and songs, there are free sessions at the Albion pub on a Monday evening.
On the day of Liskeard Light’s Up, December 1, there will be activities for all ages in town, including a children’s trail, a wild hunt and a Christmas party, as well as the lantern parade.
Volunteers are needed to help install the lights in the town centre - the first working party will go out on Sunday (November 18). Anyone who can spare an hour or two should meet at the Royal British Legion on Barn Street at 8am.
