The League of Friends of Lamellion and Passmore Edwards hospitals, Liskeard, held their annual meeting at Lamellion on April 18.

The treasurer reported a good year financially, with funds doubling. The chairman also said it had been a busy year Secretary Mary Millard, who decided not to stand after many years on the committee, was thanked for her work. Election of officers was as follows: Chairman Paul Cummins, vice chairman Geoff Brown, treasurer Dorothy Pollard, assistant treasurer Derek Sampson, secretary June Toms, publicity secretary Beat Sampson, membership secretary Elizabeth Gray, fund-raising secretary Janet Muchmore and catering secretary Gillian Martin. Committee members: Mike Wilton, Roy Morrish, Jan Haggearty, Kathy Travis, Sue Bettison and Joan Mayor. The three trustees elected were Paul Cummins, Mike Wilton and Dorothy Pollard.

A quiz evening will be held on May 12 at the Hotel Nebula with teams of four at £10. Those wishing to enter should telephone 01579 347468.
