UK Chancellor Rishi Sunak has been highlighting some of the more wild and unusual places taking part in the Government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

More than 85,000 outlets have been participating in the initiative which gives a 50 percent discount to diners eating out on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. The scheme will end on August 31.

Some of the more unusual places where you can eat include a llama park, a tipi in North Wales, zipwires and cable cars, a cat cafe, and the UK’s most southerly restaurant at the Housel Bay Hotel on the Lizard.

The first two weeks of the scheme aimed at boosting the hospitality trade has seen claims made for more than 35 million meals.

To find out if a restaurant is participating in Eat Out to Help Out you can use the online restaurant finder on GOV.UK. Simply enter your postcode, or one near to where you want to eat out, to get a list of participating outlets within a five-mile radius.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak said: ’Britain is breathing life back into hospitality by eating out to help out – with at least 35 million meals served up in the first two weeks alone, that is equivalent to more than half of the UK taking part.

’I encourage everyone to continue to safely enjoy this scheme – it is vital people continue to support the 1.8 million people who work in the sector.’
