A SERIES of free learning events are being offered to hospitality and tourism businesses in Cornwall.

The sessions are aimed at helping businesses make the most of the coming season and make preparations for the year ahead , and they’re being hosted by Visit Cornwall.

Each topic-specific workshop will feature specialist guest speakers, and delegates can put forward questions to them in advance.

The subjects covered will include: coping with increased costs in 2022 and beyond; where to find business support; overcoming staffing challenges; sustainability issues; and embracing digital marketing.

Malcolm Bell, chief executive of Visit Cornwall, said: “The last two years have been a roller coaster ride for the tourism and hospitality sector in Cornwall. It looks like 2022 will be another “interesting year”. Businesses are facing inflationary pressures, our guests have to cope with the cost-of-living crisis, and overseas competition is fully operating.

“Visit Cornwall is delighted to be able to run a series of key events, thanks to support from the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Growth Hub, to help businesses to be as prepared as they can be for the challenges, but also the opportunities, facing us.”

The events are all free of charge to attend and are open to all, you do not have to be a member of Visit Cornwall to participate, but pre-booking via Eventbrite is essential. Participants can attend the whole event or dip in and out.

Refreshments will be provided on arrival and during the live events, lunch will also be provided free of charge.
