A Cornish gin has been voted one of the best in Britain in a national competition.
Country Life magazine named Tarquin’s hand-crafted Cornish, based near Wadebridge, as runner-up in the Great British Gin Awards.
Country Life editor Mark Hedges said: ’Gin has been through many ups and downs in its history, and is now very much in high spirits. It is fashionable once more and small batch producers are springing up all over the UK.’
The inaugural awards put 53 entrants through their paces. The winner was Fifty Pounds London dry.
