A Liskeard-based newspaper is launching its first special online-only edition with coverage of Plymouth Argyle’s promotion push.

The Sunday Independent is producing a digital edition this evening (May 14) covering the first leg of Plymouth Argyle’s Sky Bet League Two promotion semi-final against port rivals Portsmouth.

The edition will contain a match report and reaction plus comprehensive picture coverage and digital-only advertising.

The Sunday Independent is the West Country’s sport-led regional paper, reaching some 40,000 readers across Bristol, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall with comprehensive coverage of professional and amateur sport in the counties, supported by a weekly news and features supplement. It’s based at Liskeard Business Park.

Its proprietor, Brian Doel, said: ’Our title has for decades been known and respected as the first and best place to go for sports coverage in the West Country on a Sunday. New technology means we can now provide that same level of trusted coverage to big games that take place on other days than Saturday.’

The special edition will cost £1 and will be online at www.sundayindependent.co.uk soon after the final whistle. Coverage of the match will also be provided live on Twitter on the paper’s account, @thesundayindy
