Work is due to begin on Monday on a new NHS dental surgery in Charter Way, Liskeard, which will have space for up to four dentists treating around 10,000 patients. The £350,000 project is the result of a ground breaking deal between Caradon District Council and property developers Concise Construction of Surrey. The developers put up the money as a condition of receiving planning permission for major local housing developments. Caradon has already lined up dentist Theo Bellingham who will move from his Dean Street practice in Liskeard into the new building once it is complete. Caradon will own the surgery while the Primary Care Trust hopes to secure some grant funding towards the cost of providing dental equipment.
