Brownies in Looe had fun earning their ‘Friends to Animals’ badge thanks to a local vet.

Sarah Caldwell, of Calweton Vets, showed the youngsters how to patch up a broken leg and then the girls had the chance to practise their bandaging skills on a toy dog or calf.

‘The Brownies were invited to be a vet or a nurse, using all the equipment the vets use in practice,’ said assistant Brownie leader Julie Gregory. The girls then had the chance to ask questions, and now all of them would like to do this as a career!’
