A campaign to encourage local shoppers back to the town centre is to be launched by the town's Chamber of Commerce.
Called 'Liskeard Means Business', the campaign will kick off on Monday, September 13 and one of the attractions will be free parking every afternoon from 2pm for a whole month.
This will apply to all the car parks in Liskeard owned by the council.
On Saturday September 18 the major event will be held from 3pm .
This is when the newly refurbished Parade will officially declared open. Celebrations will include a street party, singing, dancing, fun and entertainment - and the whole community is invited.
The Chamber of Commerce, Town Council and the Town Forum are joining forces to make this a day to remember for Liskeard.
Throughout the month-long period of free parking shopkeepers will be welcoming shoppers with various promotions, competitions, displays and discounts. The aim is to entice people to re-discover Liskeard and encourage people to shop in the town centre again.
It will also give a boost to businesses affected by the work which has been done on the Parade over the past few months. Further details will be announced in the Cornish Times at a later date.
The next meeting of the Chamber of Commerce is on Monday, September 6 at the Lord Elliot Hotel, starting at 6pm.
