THE brave bird whose fight for life was reported all over the world after being featured in the Cornish Times is still battling.

And her owner has called for help with from anybody who can come up with a solution - declaring: ‘If we can come up with the Man Engine surely Cornwall can invent some leg supports for an owl?’

Boo Boo the eagle owl developed serious deformities in her legs at four weeks old and Pelyn Vets diagnosed an extremely rare genetic disorder.

The little owl has had devoted care at her home in the Talons animal sanctuary at Hendra Farm, Pelynt.

But now she’s developing sores around the legs, where she has to wear specially-designed supports.

‘I’m quite worried at the moment,’ said owner Senara Collings.

‘Bless her, she’s coped with everything we throw at her. She has a real fighting spirit and she won the hearts of a lot of people.

‘But these sores are becoming a real worry.

‘I feel like I want to write to technical colleges and vets and universities and say “This is the problem - please invent something that will help prevent these sores”.’

Boo Boo lives in a special pen with her own collection of cuddly toys, and has the energy to fight Senara’s broom when she’s tidying up.

Fund-raising to pay for Boo Boo’s ongoing care is continuing and the little owl has her own page at
