Lanreath were missing a few regular players but did not seem to be under-strength as they got off to a flying start with some neat, concise passing.
This early pressure was rewarded with two composed goals from Jonny Collins after just five minutes. This seemed to unsettle the Boscastle side as they took a while to produce flowing football. However, just as Boscastle were starting to raise their game, Lanreath exploited the blistering pace of their lively centre-forward by playing the ball in behind the defence. This paid dividends as Jonny struck two more goals before the interval, the pick of them being a low hard drive to the far post.
After the break of half-time, Boscastle displayed good strength in character by pulling two goals back. This included a neat cross to the far post which was headed in comfortably. Lanreath then tightened up at the back to prevent any opportunity of a mammoth come-back. The tackling was hard and fair and inevitably giving the side confidence on the ball.
Still with 20 minutes to go, Lanreath capitalised on their lead with some hard-working hustling from midfield. After pressing Boscastle further back into their own half, Matt Julians tackle rebounded into the path of Jim Moynan who turned well and calmly placed the ball into the Boscastle net. 10 minutes from time, man of the match Jonny Collins netted his fifth goal of the match to seal a convincing 6-2 win for Lanreath who maintain pressure on their league rivals.
