This Duchy Premier League fixture was expected to be a tight match as both teams have an impressive record so far this season.

This game was no exception as neither team could take the lead in the first part of the game. Jonny Collins was played through his trusty midfield, he outpaced the organised Biscovey defence, but could only fire over the crossbar and the advancing keeper.

Biscovey tried to make the most of their golden chance as the Lanreath defence proved stingy. However, the ball was worked towards the far post and the Biscovey striker could only scramble wide.

After the interval both teams continued to pass intelligently yet only a few scoring opportunities arose. A header from Jon Collins off a Matt Julian cross just drifted wide of the post.

Later on the young Biscovey goalkeeper saving brilliantly on his debut, even after taking a painful knock early on. Soon after saving an important "one on one", the young Biscovey 'keeper was left helpless after a well-worked move by Lanreath ending in a well-taken goal by Jonny Collins to put Lanreath 1-0 up.

A high-tempo last 15 minutes proved entertaining and tiring. Both teams created the odd half chance with Biscovey forcing a superb reaction save from Rodney Stokes.

The full-time whistle finally blew ending the game with Lanreath deservedly claiming maximum points. A good all-round team performance from Lanreath with no individuals shining in particular. Both teams played with good spirit and sportsmanship and look forward to next week's encounter in the cup.
