Callington got off to a flying start, after only three minutes, a fierce shot from Nicholls was only half saved by the keeper and Truscott was on hand to finish from six yards, Delabole found it very difficult to get the ball away from Callington with Jury, Fitze, Barford and Tony Truscott passing the ball with ease, feeding Nicholls and Chris Truscott up front. It wasn't long before Callington scored again following some good work from Barford on the left wing. His crossed to Nicholls who made no mistake from 12 yards.
Two up after only 11 minutes Callington continued to press forward, Fitze had a 20 yard shot saved and Griffiths had a well struck 30 yard free kick free kick tipped on to the bar. In the very next attack Jury fed Truscott who took the ball past the last defender and sweetly struck a left footed shot right into the top corner. The game was all over by half time as Nicholls grabbed his second just before the break.
The second period started in the same fashion with Tony Truscott finding loads of space wide right, and Fitze who was getting forward causing problems, and it was the latter who calmly chipped the keeper from 20 yards only to find the ball come off the post. However Truscott was on hand to grab a well deserved hat-trick. Callington then took their foot off the pedal and allowed Delabole back into the game with a well taken strike from Burrell. Straight back up the other end and following a good run from Truscott, he was up ended in the box, Jury stepping up to convert the penalty. Callington then had the luxury of introducing youngsters Taylor and Gregory for the final 25 minutes, but at this stage Callington were out played in certain areas and were caught out twice more but the game as a contest was well over by then.
