In front of a large crowd at Ginsters Marsh Field Parc, this derby encounter was all about taking the points. It was Callington who started with some brilliant one and two touch football. Truscott caused problems down the right and the impressive Gary Williams on the left, linked with Gregory, Truscott, Brooks, Jury and Griffiths who all pass-ed the ball with good movement, making chances every time they went forward.

However it wasn't until midway through the first half the deadlock was broken when Williams' cross found the head of Gregory six yards out and he finished with ease. Callington continued to press and 10 minutes later following a corner from Griffiths the ball fell into the six yard box. First to react was ex Saints player Brooks to stab the ball into the back of the net. Even though Callington had more chances before the interval, they could not turn them into goals.

The second period was a different matter. St Dominic took the game to Callington and started to create problems. Their first effort came from Olver whose left footed drive was well saved by Fletcher in the Town goal. Midway through the half Horsley ran on to a through ball from Woods and hit a screamer into the top left hand corner. St Dominic were full of confidence now and play went from end to end with chances coming more frequently. Truscott had a well taken header disallowed and in the dying seconds Bradleys effort struck the bar but Callington held on for a deserved victory.
