Polperro has just six regular players available for their last game of the season so they called upon the services of Matthew Manning and Matthew Hamber and were forced to draft in teenage debutant Ryan Cole and veteran 'keeper Paul Collings in order to take 10 men to to second place Boscastle.
To add to their troubles Jordan Whaley and Tony Gosling were far from match fit and regular goalie Shane Eastley had to slot into midfield but they all equipped themselves well and, true to form, the whole side turned in a spirited performance in the face of adversity going into the break just a single goal down.
Boscastle changed their tactics in the second half and made better use of their extra player advantage by playing down the wings and crossing the ball instead of powering through the centre. Unusually hot weather didn't help Polperro's caused and as they tired the home side scored at regular intervals.
Manning, Hamber and Hamlet were outstanding in defence and despite not seeing much of the ball Rob Bilsborough and Matt King had the Boscastle defence in trouble on a number of occasions with King eventually getting the consolation goal.
