Pelynt's unbeaten run came to an abrupt end on Saturday and in truth the scoreline could have been worse for the visitors, despite a bright start.

The airmen took the lead when Ian Ede uncharacteristically dropped a high ball at full stretch and an alert forward cleverly back-heeled the loose ball to open the scoring.

A straightforward header at the far post from a corner put the home side 2-0 up but they also hit the post twice as Pelynt chased shadows. Pelynt made changes for the second half and although Pelynt had more of the ball the home side still broke away to hit the bar before another swift counter attack made it 3-0.

RAF St Mawgan played out the last 15 minutes with 10 men when they had a player dismissed for persistent dissent, Pelynt then enjoyed their best spell of pressure, Eddie Johns headed just over from a Paul Boxall corner and James Smith saw his deflected effort whistle just wide.

The RAF had the last word when Andy Giles attempted clearance was charged down leaving a free run on goal for a forward to make it 4-0. Pelynt will need a vast improvement if they are to avoid a similar fate against Chillaton tomorrow.
