These two sides produced an encounter which would be best described as a typical end-of-season match between opponents who both appeared to have little to play for. However, for Gunnislake to have this attitude was inexplicable as they head the table and have a championship to play for.

The hosts took a 35th minute lead when an unmarked attacker headed home. A left-sided centre Paul Tomkies hit a well struck equaliser on the hour mark. With five minutes to go, RAF scored the winner.

Gunnislake will look for a dramatic improvement this weekend when they play two massive games. Tomorrow Saturday sees them travel to Roche where they really need to claim three points. On Sunday they play, for the first time in 18 years, in the final of the Bedford Cup at Langsford Park, Tavistock, with kick-off at 6 pm. This will be a very tough fixture as the opposition are Jewson South Western League team Callington Town who are managed by former Gunnislake favourite Ian Southcott.
