Pensilva won their first game since late November after beating Fowey on Saturday.

It was a familiar start though when a badly defended corner allowed the visitors to take a surprise lead. Pensilva fought back well and were soon in control of the game without managing to find the equaliser. Chances came and went and as the break approached Fowey still held a slender lead. Then Colin Swinburne struck one of his renowned left footers which was heading straight for the bottom corner (flag) until an outstretched arm stopped it and conceded a penalty which Dave Hicks converted.

The second half was all Pensilva. Firstly, the ever improving Colin Wilson finished a nice move and set off for the corner leaving his team mates, none of whom had the energy to keep up; behind. It was soon 3-1 as Stuart Timms hit the large space left by the goalkeeper. It was a well deserved goal as he had been ill all week and indeed the chance of a mad dash to the toilet had not been ruled out.

Chris Evans scored his first goal in competitive games for the club. That completed the scoring and helped win Evans the Man of the Match award. The rest of the game belonged to Jonathan Firth and his box of tricks; the best being the teasing of his marker before a beautiful flick of his left boot sent the ball straight out for a throw in to Fowey!
