The visitors took the lead on 15 minutes when Mark Yeoman scored following a Paul Doidge centre. Gunnislake twice came close to increasing their lead. Firstly another Doidge cross was headed against the crossbar by Mark Warwick before Doidge himself was denied by an excellent save by the home keeper.

Grampound the produced a move which began in their own penalty area and resulted in an equalising goal. By the interval Gunnislake had regained the lead when Paul Tomkies volleyed home a Neil Kinger throughball.

On 60 minutes the visitors increased their lead with another well taken Tomkies goal. The fourth goal came shortly afterwards when Kinger converted from the penalty spot following a foul on Doidge.

The home side did reduce the arrears but it was Gunnislake who completed the scoring when summer signing Doidge opened his account for the club.
