Lanreath made the long journey to the North coast village of St Merryn, still full of confidence, stemming from their recent form. Manager Ramos had an unchanged team to face opponents that they had never beaten on their home patch.

With near perfect conditions the scene was set for a fine match but the first 20 minutes was scrappy. The home side took the lead after 25 minutes when Lanreath failed to clear their lines and a fierce drive deceived Shepley by its power and accuracy. This jolted the visitors into action and they soon equalised with a Beckham like free kick from Peel.

Lanreath felt the hard work had been done, as now in the second half they had the advantage of the slope. Peel put them in front with a terrific shot that looked to be going wide until a St Merryn defender deflected it past his own keeper. The comfort zone soon came when more good work from Peel set up Shane Vine whose crisp shot rounded off the scoring.

This win has extended Lanreath's unbeaten run to seven lifting from into a promotion pushing position. Manager Ramos said "We find ourselves doing well due to commitment and hard work. Today there were many good performances with Ragget and Mussey shining in defence and Lewis and Peel in midfield. The lads are now realising that if they put the effort in for each other the results will come. I've never known such a good atmosphere as we now have in the reserves and this is showing on the pitch." Next week Lanreath travel to Lanivet to try and avenge their cup defeat.
