On a day more conducive to playing football than of late, St Cleer entertained Tintagel in the Duchy KO Cup and progressed to the next round courtesy of a brace from Collins plus one a piece from Harvey and Hockin.
Although always in command starting off more flueritly than of late, St Cleer met a Tintagel side full of heart and endeavour who stifled the home side's creatively in the Iast third and defended well as the home team continually pressed them back
It was not until the 35th minute when the deadlock was broken by Collins who used his strength to create a chance from a through ball to slot pass the keeper. Before this, first the visitors and tben St Cleer had hit the woodwork.
The second half started with the visitors coming out with renewed vigour, and both goals led a charmed life before a corner from Tintagel led to a party piece taken from a Keystone Cops movie, finishing with theball in the back of the St Cleer net. Saints quickly took heed and went stright back up the pitch and from a Collins cross Harvey bundled the ball home to restore home advantage.
Within five minutesa a spilled ball was knocked home by Hockin to give St Cleer the lead.
Tintagel fought back and despite leading 3-1, Saints were being asked questions, and on a couple of occasions Tintagal were unlucky not pull one back. It wasn't witil nearly on full time that St Cleer emphasised their superiority when Collins and Coleflax cornbined to spread the ball wide to Perrett whose acurrate cross was header home by Collins to finished the scoring.
Saints operate as a complete unit and each squad player is doing their part in St Cleer's current good run of forrn.
