Pelynt took away from this game a result which they deserved - a comprehensive defeat.
From the outset the visitors struggled to come to terms with the windy conditions and allowed the home team to bring the game to them. It came as no surprise when Foxhole took the lead when four defenders allowed a single striker to knock the ball, and Pelynt goalkeeper Fred Ede, into the net. Even the disqualification of another Foxhole attempt failed to spur Pelynt into action. Indeed, Robbie Petrie's last minute shot was the only time the home 'keeper was tested during the entire first half.
A half time team talk featuring such words as 'commitment' and 'determination' did encourage the visitors to start the second half with a little more purpose although Foxhole continued to dictate the pace of the game. Despite this Pelynt did equalise when Phil Hearnden hit the ball on the turn from 25 yards and watched it sneak in off the post.
In familiar fashion Pelynt surrendered their level terms within a minute when they left three Foxhole players unmarked in the box and allowed them to draw lots to see who would head the ball home.
Foxhole sealed their victory with 15 minutes left when they caught Pelynt on the counter attack and their striker beat Ede with an inch-perfect long range shot.
With only minutes left Pelynt's day was summed up when Andy Giles' pinpoint cross was met by Hearnden but somehow conspired to miss from close in.
