A BID to raise enough for the roof of a historic building has been launched.

Volunteers have started a Crowdfunder campaign with a target of £2,000 to get repairs to the roof of Polperro’s Ebenezer Gallery under way.

The appeal was launched at the start of the gallery’s annual exhibition displaying work from nearly 60 artists and craftspeople.

The building began life as a Methodist chapel, and since 1972 has been the home of the East Cornwall Society of Artists, who annually hold a long summer exhibition of paintings and crafts.
