Despite flooding affecting much of the county during the past week, the rain stayed away and the temperatures cool for the East Cornwall Harriers' flagship event – the Ginsters Cornish Marathon.
A total of 211 runners tackled one of the most arduous and testing road marathons in the country.
Although this is the 15th and final event in the Cornish Grand Prix calendar, it is one that draws competitors from as far afield as London and the Midlands – and those who run it once tend to return again and again. This year's overall race winner was St Austell Running Club's Daniel Alsop, who set a huge course record of two hours, 42 minutes and 35 seconds, slicing three minutes off the previous best time.
There were 12 East Cornwall Harriers in all who took part in the race and many more members of the club were involved behind the scenes, either marshalling or organising.
