Cornish All Blacks scrum-half Ben Turner will be sponsored in the coming year by Kernow Martial Arts and the Latus family.
James Latus, of Kernow Martial Arts, explained why he is sponsoring the player and what he hopes to get out of the deal.
'We've got several members of our club who train with the minis and juniors, so it's an opportunity to give something back to the community and back to Launceston rugby club,' he said. 'Plus the club stands for the similar sorts of standards we do as a martial arts club – developing individuals, and people achieving their goals and reaching where they want.
'It's also useful advertising for our organisation and, hopefully, we will pick up a few new members.
'If people from the club want to come training with us, they can do so at a discounted rate.
'Finally, we want to get some of our members to come back and support the club, coming down here to watch the games, and so on.
'Kernow Martial Arts provides freestyle martial arts for all ages, from five to 60, as well as fitness development, confidence training, self-respect, discipline etc. It's also an opportunity for people to socialise and meet new people.'
