If you’re looking for something different to entertain your children this Christmas Eve, local author JT Scott is inviting everyone to watch the free premiere of her Bumper and Friends animation on YouTube. The animation is around ten minutes long and will be screened on YouTube at 6.45pm on Christmas Eve.
Jenny, author (JT Scott), said: "I’m really excited about the launch of the animation, it’s taken nine months of hard work bringing the characters from the books to life and it will be exciting to share the magic with everyone on Christmas Eve."
Bumper the Bumblebee is one of the garden creatures created by Jenny. Her "Bumper and Friends" stories are available to buy on Amazon. Bumper is worried because he zig-zags and all of his friends do something different. When writing the books, Jenny says her inspiration came from sitting in the garden and a bumblebee zig-zagged and landed on a dandelion. "Why is it zig-zagging and what do other creatures do?"
Through the journey, Bumper asks his friends for advice about zig-zagging. "It’s a story of friendship and discovery. I wanted to create a story to show how we are all different," said Jenny, "and to show how some people are good at some things and other people are good at other things."
Jenny, originally from Looe, also visits schools including Looe, Pelynt, St Nicolas and Duchy college, helping children with storytelling, creativity, reading and writing and appears on Cornwall’s Real Heroes Read Books programme. She has written 20 children’s books, including the Sammy Rambles series (for children and adults who like castles and dragons), Molly Manila books and Bumper and Friends books. She has also created the inclusive sport Dragonball.
