SEVERAL beaches in South East Cornwall have been judged as excellent in the latest Good Beach Guide.

The Marine Conservation Society (MCS), which produces the guide, said Par beach managed to turn around its fortunes, going from failing the standards last year to being recommended as a top quality beach this year.

Charlestown, Millendreath, Downderry, Portwrinkle, Cawsand Bay and Kingsand Bay were also rated as top quality beaches.
