BEACHES all along Whitsand Bay have been inundated with debris after the recent run of strong westerlies, says Gill Bridges, above, of Looe
Marine Conservation Group.
Gill was out walking her dog at Seaton when she came across this large pile of ‘ghost netting’ (abandoned or lost netting from a fishing boat) embedded in the sand.
Gill reported the netting to Clean Cornwall, who will come and remove it from the beach – it was so heavy it would require a tractor to lift it off the sand, she says.
