A BOMB scare caused the evacuation of East Looe Beach on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said an object was found on the beach close to East Looe Town Trust's beach tractor at around 1.40pm.

The incident attracted attention from locals and holidaymakers and the area was cordoned off by police while explosive disposal units dealt with the object.
