Looe Band The Changing Room join in as tradition and celebration characterise a busy St Piran’s weekend in Penzance.

There will be a full St Piran’s event at The Acorn, Penzance on the day itself, Sunday March 5, beginning at 6.30pm with a two-course pasty supper.

St Piran’s Day will also feature another traditional celebration earlier in the day – a procession leaving the bottom of Causewayhead at 9.30pm to arrive in Madron in time for the St Piran service at Madron Church at 11am.

The procession will carry the statue of St Piran, based on medieval statues.

Both events are part of Festival Kernewek – Penzance Cornish Language Festival which has run a full programme of Cornish cultural events in the run up to St Piran’s Day.

Other highlights taking place at The  Acorn include a live performance today (March 3) by The Changing Room, with support Will Keating.
