The Caradon open badminton tournament was held at Callington community sports centre with over 120 young players taking part in more than 800 games of badminton.
The under l8s doubles competition was won by Chris Woodroffe and Gareth Havard who beat Adam Woodford and James Allen 11-2 in the final. Other results were as follows: Under l8s singles - Chris Woodroffe beat Gareth Havard 11-3 in the final; Under 15s doubles - Ka-hoo Tse and Simon Philp beat Stewart and David Randall 11-6 in the final; Under 15s singles - Ka-hoo Tse beat David Harrington 11-1 in the final; Under 13s doubles - Philip Simmons and Stewart Randall beat David Rundle and Jonathan Lannon 11-2 in the final; Under 13s singles - Stewart Randall beat David Williams 11-8 in the final; Under 11s doubles - Douglas Andrews and Ben Arnold beat Paul Luiten and George Zhao 11-3 in the final; Under 11s singles - George Zhao beat Ben Arnold 11-1 in the final.
Over 70 entrants for Restormel Junior 'Open'
There was an excellent entry of 71 youngsters in the Restormel "Open" Junior Badminton competition held at Newquay Tretherras Community School and sponsored by Sports Development Restormel.
Two competitors registered a braceof wins- in the singles and doubles of the U-15 section - Rachael Hobbs (Bude) and Camborne's Simon Philp.
In the Girls U-13 singles won by Teresa Hobbs (Bude), Elizabeth Yeo (Altarnun), came second and Charlotte Marquand (Altarnun) third.
