AWARDS were given out to Callington Town Band members when they joined forces with Callington Community Gospel Choir at a concert. Four accolades were presented with the attendance award being jointly given to Evie Lightbody and Kevin McKane. Cliff McKane picked up the Betty and David Restall award for the person who had contributed to the smooth running of the band throughout the year. This was presented to him by Callington's portreve Andrew Long. A prize for the most improved performer went to Claire Blaze, the principal flugelhorn player in the band. The band were also presented with a £100 cheque from Miller Countrywide to help them with there fundraising efforts following a fire in their old band room. Mike Jones was also thanked for his efforts in the London marathon which raised money for the group.
