The Eden Project’s Mediterranean Biome has undergone its biggest-ever transformation with the addition of an exotic new Western Australia Garden featuring grass trees, kangaroo paws and wax flowers.

Now it is to be officially opened by the High Commissioner of Australia, Alexander Downer, on Tuesday, May 9.

The new exhibit aims to represent and celebrate the flora and habitats of the Mediterranean region of South West Australia.

In its natural habitat this unique body of plants thrives on some of the earth’s oldest and most infertile soil.

Eden has collaborated with Kings Park and Botanic Garden in Perth, Western Australia, to recreate the habitats.
