A EXHIBITION centring on the writing and life of author Jane Austen has been made public at Torpoint Library. Iris and George Williams, who are responsible for the display, said that they wanted to mark the 230th year since the writer's birth. The exhibition features a selection of Austen's books, historical information, paintings and pictures of the houses where she lived. Austen, author of classic titles such as Pride and Prejudice, died in 1817, and both George and Iris were keen to celebrate her work as part of the exhibition. The display has received a warm response from visitors to the library so far, and will continue to run until the end of the month.
