Ashes' supporters can look forward to a day out

at Blaise Park, St Blazey

on Easter Monday after their side reached the final of the Westinsure Cornwall Senior Cup for the second season running.

This comfortable victory at Wadebridge's Bodieve Park earned Kevin Hendy's side a meeting with Division One West high-flyers St Austell who beat Perranporth 2-0 on Tuesday.

Saltash fans are sure to flock to Blazey for their day out, but they will be looking for their favourites to give them the victory that so unluckily eluded them last Easter.

'I'm delighted, especially as it was such a thoroughly deserved victory,' exclaimed Hendy after the final whistle.

'It was a great team performance, as we were in total charge throughout the game – and we can now look forward to Easter Monday and a different result this time around.

'It's always nice to have something to look forward to as it keeps your season alive.'

The Ashes required just six minutes to open the scoring at Bodieve Park as Gavin Coulton sent a left-foot drive into the roof of the net from 20 yards.

A second arrived on 21 minutes when Lee Doel made room on the right to send the ball over for Coulton to flick on to Paul Madden, who duly crashed a left-foot drive into the net at the far post.

Second-half domination did not mature another goal until

the last minute, when substitute Carlton Farnham completed the scoring by cutting inside from the left and firing under the diving goalkeeper.
