Cornwall County Cup Semi-Final

Bude Tn 0

Saltash Utd 3

Saltash reached the first-ever County Cup Final in their short history with this impressive victory.

The Ashes had the majority of the early possession but couldn't find a way through.

Bude looked to counter-

attack, but found the Saltash back four in top form.

The opening goal came in the 18th minute when a Sam Drewery corner was flicked on at the near post to Coral Smith, who scored with a cross-shot.

The remainder of the first half was end-to-end, with both sides giving and asking questions.

Saltash started the second

period well, with Drewery and 'Player-of-the-Match' Grace O'Leary beginning to assert themselves in central midfield.

The Ashes' second came from the penalty spot on the hour after pressure from Stacey Arthur led to a handball being penalised, which Drewery converted.

Five minutes later Emma Pemberton made it 3-0 with a glancing header from a Leanne Griffiths cross.

Arthur almost made it 4-0 when her curling effort cannoned off the inside of the post but rolled across the goal-line.

The Ashes await the result of the St Breward versus Launceston semi-final tie to see who they will meet in the final.
