Now in its eighth year, Liskeard Radio is ‘moved with the times’ and remains firmly established as part of the Christmas celebrations in the town. This year, more than any other, the radio is planning to bring a smile to the people of Liskeard and beyond as well as help support the local businesses in the town, encouraging listeners to ‘Love Liskeard’ once again as we approach Christmas.
The live schedule runs from 7.00 in the morning right through to 10.00 at night with an eclectic mix of presenters, music, guests and local interest stories. They’ll be some old favourites returning as well as some new faces but most importantly they’ll some younger presenting talents that will once again be given the opportunity to shine live on the airwaves.
Last year saw the opening of Liskeard Radio’s new studio on Barras Street, it also saw the radio move to a continuous broadcast throughout the year but probably most significantly has been the switch from a FM broadcast to digital.
Liskeard Radio Director, Bryan Ugalde said: “The switch from FM to digital wasn’t an easy decision but it is one that we felt we were being encouraged to do. The radio industry as a whole, clearly seems to be moving in that direction and OFCOM, the organization that hand out the licenses, definitely see digital as the way forward for radio broadcasting in the UK. It will be a shame not to be available on FM but the quality of sound on digital alone will make the switch worthwhile.”
Liskeard Radio is available via the new app which can be downloaded at the App store and is available to listen to at www.liskeardradio.com.
