An ancient pilgrimage route has been walked by a group in Liskeard.

Making their way from the town’s Roman Catholic Church, the party of 26 took the historic ‘Mass Path’ to the site of the old shrine at Ladye Park.

The modern walkers followed in the footsteps of pilgrims who would have taken the route from around 1,000 years ago.

Members of Liskeard’s Walkers, the Walkers Are Welcome group and local churches enjoyed hearing stories of the past from Brian Oldham along the way.

As the group gathered in the tranquil garden of Ladye Park, Roman Catholic parish priest Fr Gilmour McDermott offered words of reflection and thanksgiving.
