EARLIER this year Cornwall Action Team for Jobs (CAT) secured funding until March 2006 which has enabled three projects to be launched, one of these covering the Rame Peninsula. TopCAT can help anyone in the Torpoint, Millbrook and Rame Peninsula who are jobless, thinking of returning to work and needing help such as updating skills, purchasing tools or clothing for work, help with childcare or transport, or simply get started in their job search. TopCAT Project Leader, Chris Bush said: 'TopCAT has been set up to help people whose problems have so far prevented them from making progress towards supporting themselves in employment. 'We aim to help them overcome their barriers and explore new possibilities. Our aim is to spend as much time as possible at locations in the heart of the local community.' On Mondays and Thursdays the team is based at the Wesleyan Chapel in Millbrook, on Tuesday's at Link into Learning on Fore Street, Torpoint, and on Friday's the CAT mobile Unit will be parked outside the Torpoint Library.
