Yet another accident has occurred on the A390 at Merrymeet. It happened on Friday, June 1, at 7pm – visibility was good. This is the second accident on the same road in six weeks. Are we waiting for yet another fatality? Effective action must be taken immediately. Our community requests that the 30mph restriction be signposted and double white lines be painted through the length of the village. And there should be a sign stating that no overtaking is allowed for the entire duration of the double white lines. The double white lines need to be continuous, starting in both directions prior to the entrance of the village.
