I'm writing this letter to acknowledge the superb work done by all the staff at Derriford Hospital. I was hugely impressed by the care I received throughout a recent stay and during the course of my follow-up care. I am an 81-year-old man and over the past few months have had total knee replacements on both knees. I was greatly impressed when they took care of both me and my family, ensuring that both operations took place without any additional problems. All of my families concerns put at ease by the professionalism and compassion of the doctors and all of the hospital staff who attended to me through my stay in the Stannon Ward. The hospital was spotless with all of the staff, from consultants to cleaners, playing their part in ensuring my stay was both comfortable and enjoyable (despite the operations). During my stay in the hospital, I was witness to the staff's dedication and concern over all of the patients care and minimising any discomfort and problems that they or their families may have been having during a difficult time. Finally, I would again like to say a big thank you to all the staff at Derriford Hospital for their care and help in ensuring my recovery has been both quick and pain free – hopefully I won't have to see them again soon.
