RE: Superstore has gone down hill (Cornish Times, Letters, October 8). Whilst taking a well-earned break from life at the pit face and having found someone to look after my pigeons, I was enjoying a few days with a friend who has recently down-shifted to Cornwall. I bought the Cornish Times initially to find a local bingo hall, however, the letter 'Superstore has gone down hill', caused much amusement. Dost writer not know ow ta meck decent grub outa nowt? Has tha not tried good old steak and cowheel pie, tripe and onions, black puddings, bone broth, a dripping butty or plum duff? 'Oop North' my local superstore (which the writer of the letter prefers) sells nowt but ready-made convenience foods - no wonder tha's spending £150 a week. Making good home cooked fayre has meant I can buy a nice new car!
