Callington Town received an unwanted visit from vandals who demolished two dugouts on the reserve pitch at the club’s grounds at Callington Community College.
The attack took place earlier this week with both dugouts damaged beyond repair.
‘We have worked hard as a club to provide good facilities for the young people of the town and when you see this sort of mindless damage, you wonder what the point is,’ said club vice chairman and Cornwall Councillor Andrew Long.‘These dugouts were built by volunteers from within the club and they are devastated that people can have such a disregard to other people’s property.
‘We have involved the Police in this act of criminal damage and they are following up on some lines of enquiry.
‘In the meantime we have had to cancel the weekend’s colts games due to the investigation and clearance that needs to take place.’
Anybody with information should contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555111 and quote CR088969/16.
