FREE training on how to detect and deter terrorist activity is being offered in Liskeard.

Project Griffin is a national counter-terrorism initiative and is aimed at businesses and individuals.

Its aim is to encourage and enable members of the community to work in partnership with the police to combat the threat of terrorism.

The sessions, which are run by police advisers, will cover the threat posed by terrorism, what the Government is doing, what to do in a terrorist incident and how to recognise and report suspicious activity.

Devon and Cornwall Police’s Project Griffin awareness session will be held on Wednesday, November 8, at Liskeard Town Council offices.

Places on the course must be booked in advance.

A spokesperson for Liskeard Town Council said: ‘This is a great opportunity for local training. It is about crime prevention, including terrorism, and event emergency preparedness.’
