The A30 at Bodmin is this evening re-open after a major crash this morning cost one motorist their life.
Police, the fire service, ambulance crews and two air ambulances were called at 10.30am to the collision on the eastbound carriageway involving a Scania car transporter HGV, a van and two cars.
Three people were trapped in their vehicles and seven people were injured. A woman travelling in one of the cars later died.
The van and the lorry overturned in the collision and both carriageways were closed.
The tragedy caused massive traffic issues and drivers were asked to avoid the area if possible.
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone who saw the incident is asked to contact police via email at [email protected] or by telephone on 101, quoting log number 218 of 27/05/16.
